Here's an updated pic of mine. I got it on the road 4th of July weekend. I've been having a blast since, but its about time to tear it down to finish it.

Heres a pic of a 34, The guy who owns it,bought it in 1958 as his first car and daily driver. The top was chopped when he bought it and it had a pontiac motor. He swapped the pontiac for a smallblock chevy and 4 spd in the early sixties. It was drag raced until 1966 and ran as quick as 11.70s in the 1/4 mile. It was a street driven a little in the 70s before it was parked indoors for the next 30 yrs. Plans are to go through the brake system and install a new motor and get it back on the road. 34 ford 011.jpg

I saw a 33/34 at the NSRA nats in Louisville this year. I dont know what they did but it looked horable with model A fenders. I believe they are not as wide as the 33/34 fenders. I didnt look to close once I saw they were just thrown on the truck. However, with the correct metal work and fittment they may look pretty good. All Im saying is it would be more than a direct bolt on.

  17. Cool video. The truck's looking good!
Had a question for you: the moon tank on the front... is it actually a moon tank? or what is it/where did you find it?

The moon tank serves as the overflow tank for the radiator.

I made it from two 60s Coleman heater parts.

  20. I always had an idea to use an old Moon tank to make a little tool box, mounted up front like that. But that one looked a little smaller than some of the moon tanks I've seen. Now I know why, thanks for sharing.

  21. Just looking at this tread for the first time in a couple of years, this truck of Bill's was the one that convinced me to build mine as it is today.

Thanks Bill ( I wish I could have met him to say thanks )

This is the picture I took at the GoodGuys show in Indy in 03

Here's a '34 PU i built in the 90's. All steel, Mack Hils short box, red leather, 53 Merc Flathead with dual 97's and lotsa trick polished parts, and C4 auto (Flat-O Products is 15 miles away and Gene is a friend).

Got it all done and it drove and sounded great, but I'm 6'5" - 240, so not a lotta room.....

Posted pics of my truck early on in this thread but thought you guys would get a kick out of seeing it after I stripped it in order to better my 1/4 mile E.T.'s at a drag meet.
It worked! 1 1/2 seconds off my previous PB. :D
