Hey Mike, It has been real touch and go with the economy.

The truck is a 46 and i did a total resto on it. The guy has owned it since 1950.
He is an orange rancher and used the truck up untill the late 80's. He and his son
tore it down to restore it in the 80's and got as far as tearing it down. I have done
a total nut and bolt job on it. Its almost done and have more pic's to post.

Hey Jimmy, Was flipping through the H.A.M.B. and found a thread on you. You do great work. My dad and I always loved having you swing by the shop. Hot Rod Jan wants you to throw another party, we all had a good time at the last.

Axle, this is one of the best things I've read on here in a long time. Thanks for taking the time to share it. Very very cool.

Unfortunately Jim Bouchard passed away peacefully this morning in Hemet, CA. from the complications of a lengthy battle with Cancer. To his family we extend our sincere condolences. Our fraternity has lost another great car design and finishing man. His dedication to excellence was notable to all of us.

Please allow me to clarify. Jim Bouchard Jr. (the one this thread is about) is still with us. His father Jim Sr. unfortunately passed away yesterday. Sr. was a long time Hot Rodder who left us too early. R.I.P.

What a great story Axle. Inspiring. Sounds like a great friend.

I had read the other thread of the passing of Jim, and then read yhis story and was feeling so very sorry for you. Glad it wasn't your friend in the end, although it instead being his father is very sad too. One can only imagine the stories and wealth of knowledge that he had.
