Leaky rear cylinder shot fluid on my brake shoes (semi-metallic). Can I just shoot them with brake cleaner or do I need to replace? Thanks,

Change them. The material is like a sponge, the fluid will soak in and will never fully come out and will continue to leach out and you can end up with a film on the brake material. Brake shoes are cheap and for safety sake replace them. Just my opinion

AGREED. You probably already know this but make sure you replace the shoes on both sides.

ive cleaned then and run them. It isnt optimal but they still work ok, probably last longer to.

As everyone has said - replace them.

  8. Did ya ever think what would happen when they fail???
Don't be a Bozo, replace them

  9. I've had it happen on a rear brake shoe too but it was on a o/t beater and I didn't really care. Never had an issue with it but that was me. Your results may be different. If it would have happened on a front shoe, I would have changed it without thinking twice.
