picked up a 26 T project. the rear bumper has a badge that says (weed) in the middle of it. looks like a stock bumper. i don't know, anyone on here ever heard of this. thanks curt
that bumper was incorrectly installed. It is on upside down. The PEEM bumpers were an after market product that had a very high quality chrome. In nice condition, they are worth at least $2000 today.
Yes, I have heard of Weed bumpers. Do a google search, I be suprized if you can't find info. There were many aftermarket companies making bumpers.
Nice, A weed bumper from the early 30's would be cool! Weed was legal in most places in the USA until the The Marijuana Tax Act of 1937 was passed, unfortunately it was a bill based upon racism, greed, corruption, ignorance and the protection of corporate profits. It made Hemp, a cash crop for the farmers illegal. Hemp was grown by many of our founding fathers. It was the primary crop grown by George Washington at Mount Vernon and it was also grown by Thomas Jefferson at Monticello. Henry Ford grew hemp. In the 1930's, Ford Motor Company operated a successful biomass fuel conversion plant using cellulose at Iron Mountain, Michigan. Ford engineers extracted methanol, charcoal fuel, tar, pitch ethyl-acetate and creosote from hemp. The same fundamental ingredients for industry were also being made from fossil fuels. http://www.ozarkia.net/bill/pot/blunderof37.html http://www.truthabouthemp.org/History.html http://www.world-mysteries.com/marijuana1.htm http://www.drugwarrant.com/articles/why-is-marijuana-illegal/
