    Help...

I am about to remove the (331 CID) OIL PUMP PICK UP SCREEN. Can this be done while leaving the OIL PUMP in the engine ??

I am installing new rings in a 25,000 original mile engine. I can get the job done, but it would be nice to clean the pickup screen. Yes, I am doing this with the engine in the car.

Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions from Caddy GURU's...

The "carter" pin is up at the pump body, the screen and pickup tube are one piece, and the cotter pin attaches it to the pump up there at the pump body... hope that helps??
