Here are pics of all the damage on the drivers side. B pillar is better but the A pillar is rough. The entire a pillar was twisted and the door jamb was smashed and twisted. Gene got the pillar straight and then I cut the door jamb sheet metal from my parts car and welded it in.

Last night I cut the sheetmetal off of the quarter and the cowl. I built up the sheet metal by the latch. I fixed the rust in the wheel well and I clearanced the sheet metal around the shock mount. I also cut the floor out.

Today I fixed the base of the A pillar. Replaced the front of the rocker. Fixed the D-nuts. Made the bottom of the A-pillar. And i bolted the hinge on

They do that when you pull then out of your jeans pocket with your thumb on the screen. No need to ask why I know that tidbit.

That car just keeps looking better every time I look at your updates. And makes me want one for my flathead's new home more all the time rather than an A sedan.

  19. Sorry for the dumb question, but are making or buying your patch panels??? From following this thread I know you've made several, but I was just curious about the outer body patch panels. Either way I'm really enjoying your build and you are doing an excellent job.

Here is a pic of the driver's door to remind you guys how much of a piece of shit it is. I got a sedan door that I plan to splice to the 3 window top. I cleaned the skin up tonight. I will also have to use the inner out of the 3 window door since my car has a forward inner door handle and the sedan door has the handle in the middle of the door.

I drilled the spot welds and took the inner panel out of the sedan door. I took all of the undercoating off of the skin. The bottom hinge had been arc welded to the support structure. I cut that chunk off of the 3-window frame work. I fixed the cracks in it.

Are you going to finish the top of the door now, or leave that for the chop?
