40 ford pickmup new guy

    its been awhile since ive had a FORD and im excited about my 40 ford pickmup. its a solid project & ill have a few questions lol.
    my bed is a 50 & still checking it out to see if i can use it, its wider by 2 1/2" and thats ok my rear is wider than stock also, check it out.
    Any 40 pickmup guys? can i ask you some questions?

  2. Welcome from Rockmart GA! Henrieta the '38 Ford pickup and Ozelle the '55 Ford send friendly horn honks. The bed sides are the same stamping (fenders are different and fender bolt holes are stamped in different places) on the '50 bed. '51 went to the smooth flat side bed with a corresponding change to the rear fenders. The '50 bed is wider as you noted. '38-'41 all used the same bed, so let me know if you need any measurements off my '38 bed. '38-'40 used same tailgate, '41 gate will fit but no V8 emblem on the '41 gate because Ford offered 4 and 6 cylinder options in '41.
