INFO:: Is there any interest in 228 GMC 6's ?

    I know a Guy gettin ready to Scrap a bunch of stuff, In the Mix are a Pair of Complete 228 GMC 6 cylinder engines.


    I know 270 & 302 are THE ones to have but before he Junks these I tought I would Find out if there is a following.


    If anyone wants to Drive up to Ventura California & make an offer you can P/M me & see if they cant be saved.

    The parts off the light duty 228 engines (oil pan - bell housing - flywheel - etc) are usually necessary to use a heavy duty truck's 270/302 in the light duty truck. So anyone doing an engine swap would want those parts. 228s are pretty hard to get any value out of even though they are a great engine.
     
  3. So you are saying that most parts will fit the 270/302??
    If that is the case I would be interested in some parts.

    1 is in a '49 1.5 ton Flatbed the other is in a '54 COE chassis ... Body is gone

    Same basic engine. lots of interchange of bolt on parts.
