All right, this is probablly going to sound stupid. But which way do I mount My shocks. These are going on My 59 Chevy truck (if that makes a differance). Is there an up and down to these shocks? What end do I mount to the frame bracket and which to the axle, front and rear and why do they need to be mounted that way just out of curiosity?

The fat end is the bottom. On shocks with a tube covering the top, this is so the tube doesn't fill up with shit and bind the shock solid. On a shock without a tube cover, the valving may or may not be affected by the mounting direction.
