First, but not least - er last - or something.

Anyway, here are some shots from Des Moines. Definitely one of the best, if not the best, venue on the Goodguys schedule. No the SHOW IN NOT MOVING. Ignore the rumors.

You shot my speedo! And also got shots of at least three cars from my town. Thanks for keeping the show at the fairgrounds, I look forward to it every year.

    Great pics thanks.

  20. Thanks for the pictures. I missed Des Moines the last 3 years. The fair grounds is a great place for a car show. Lots of tree's and it just seems cooler than the racetrack GG's. I'll have to make it next year.

    Hey Grommet,
The Econoline is from the Oliver-bilt group in Des Moines. Did ya see the motorized bike inside?
Has cool suspension and chassis, just no way to SEE it !
I think that is a CHEVY 6-cyl in it, also.
They LOVE to mess with ya !

    I love it !

That's my ol man in the black 28. He left Omaha by himself (No other cars in a group) and minimal tools and drove that beast 2.5 hours to the show and then home again. Thing does not have a trunk floor in it yet so I know we was carring much for spares or tools. I was out of town or I would have been with him. He was trying out some different front tires. Old ones had a shimmy at 60-65 mph, he said those spoke fronts run smooth. He said he shoved that columbia in on the high side was passing trucks at 80. Open headers all the way (always) on that full race flatty. At 67 he doing it why he can! Wish I could have been with him.

Another home run Kirk. You sure know how to cover an event with a camera.

Thanks Kirk and thanks for spending some time with Marlyn - I thought you would appreciate the guy parked next to me and his car and him. Not many original owner 1956 Chevies left and owners for that matter. Thanks again and pleasure finally meeting you and Hemi

  30. Nice shots as usual Kirk! That old restored Plymouth pickup was one of my favorites too, you never see them like that, even if it wasnt rodded. The black A sedan with scallops had a killer interior!!! I need to meet the Oliver bros. sometime, they build some kool stuff, the slammed econoline with the bike inside was a winner, you should see the Checker they built too.
