I order to comply with the title requirements for Pennsylvania, I need to have back up lights. Who has a idea?
Get some 24v aircraft landing lights. Put in 2 extra batteries wired thru a relay and melt plastic grills on tailgaters. has worked for years.
Man that SUCKS! More regulations everyday! And there really isn't anywhere to hide them inconspicuously is there?
No reverse lights on my car here in Pa and nobody ever asked. With Antique and Classic Plates you only need to comply with year-of-manufacture equipment. Unless, perhaps you're going for Street Rod plates for a home-built vehicle and they're holding you to the standards for the year of the engine.
As much as I hate it can you run some small LED's around the license plate. Hide them as much as possible but still pass inspection?
How can Pa mandate retrofiting equipment not there at the time the vehicle was manufacured??? Do they make old mopars change over from their single trunk mounted stop light?? They are worried about reversing lights that weren't generally available till the mid 50's but they don't care about the lack of windshield wipers??? Go retro and mount a couple clearence lights to your lower shock mounts and a toggle switch on your shifter..... I installed small oval shaped driving lights for backups.Kit came with fuse,relay and wires.$29 I think.We have Princess Auto up here,but maybe a surplus store may have them.Auto parts store too,but most likely more money
get on ebay and find some GM backup lights from the 40's. they are in little chrome bullets with a cool lens. some came with a little chrome stand as well. Chevrolet used them up til 1950. in 51 they were just the lens and a chrome bezel, which might look OK on your rolled pan.
I like the GM backup lights from the 40's through early 50's. Bullet shaped chrome housing with their own base, rigged on a switch, glass lens, looks right.
Tell em you only go forward in your hot rod..unless its to back over a beaurocrat, and run back over him again hell my 53 didnt even come with them as functioning equipment..it was an option add on shit is such a drag, and looks so much like an after thought..sorry they are bing so dickey

I don't have back up lights and I'm in Pa. I was told by the inspector that if it was not on the car as standard and only an option then you don't need it for the year of the car.
Get those cheapo 2 for $3 LED flashlights and hang them out there. Wire up a switch and you are in business. They will probably say they are tooooo bright!
Best idea yet. Do the least amount of work/cost to pass inspection and rip that crap off as soon as you're papered.

To everybody saying he does"nt need them because of the year it is,well anybody including an inspector can see this is not a stock,original vehicle so he does have to follow the state guidelines. Go down to your nearest motorcycle shop and pick up a couple of the small,not L.E.D. driving lights and mount them up underneath where you want and be done with it. The lights are about the size of a half dollar.
Any truck stops near by? Go into the chrome shop, there you will find your choice of hundreds of lights, should be able to find one to your likings. TR
Not very clear in this photo but you can see the reverse lights I used on my T Roadster. I just looked round to see what I could find and these are similar to a Ford Escort from about 1970's and fitted in nicely with the tail lights I used. If you look hard enough you will also see a 3rd brake light hidden under the roll bar. Some of the aftermarket LED's look good and could be hidden so as not to obvious.
how about this lenz in this type of housing plus a beauty ring? always thought it would make a good tail light assy.....
