loud lake pipes

So I just hooked up my lake pipes on my 50 Dodge flathead 6. man are they loud, has anybody ever used ( JONES MUFFLERS ) ? I have very limited space to try and get some kind of mufflers on this car, Jones sells a glasspack that is 9 inches long and 3.5 inch body, these are straight through mufflers. there part number is A3509-S. I was wondering if anybody ever used these and just how loud they might be, or I anybody has any advice on what I can run.

I used some of the baffles from here:

Once I wrapped them in fiberglass ($6 or $7 from a motorcycle shop) they probably cut the noise in half...

Edit: DOH! mixed up lake pipes with lake headers, my bad =)

 

yep, lakes pipes can be loud, and hot. try search at summit racing, and others, for racing mufflers and resonators if ones you mention do not work out.
