Wow,talk about fun and good memories.
There are times when I wish I went to racing diggers back then instead of door cars.Still fun though.

Like folks have already said, that was indeed Dave Koffel, but that screaming 327 was in a Packard 4 door.

This is Barb Hamilton's, isn't it? Dad took these ('64?) and I've had them for years and only noticed it last night.

Ever notice that a lot of the drivers failed to equipt themselves with fire boots. How long would those Keds last when the tranny blew?

I not only like the pictures of the dragsters but it's also the people's clothes, the trailers, the pickups, hair styles, etc, etc, etc, that make this thread great.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you as I have been out of town. These are the only photos I have and they are scans. The negatives (120 or 620 film are around some where but I don't know how long it would take to find them. The "White Ash" car was originally called "White Trash" and is driven here by Donnie Brewer I have been told. See the Georgia Drag Racing web site for a few more photos of this car.

Yellow River is now a trailer park or was last time I was in the area. The glory days of drag racing are over now. I would love to see a real Super Stock meet now with out the "Pro" classes. Pay like they used to, three places, now you would have to pay somethig like $10,000, 5,000 and 2500 to get the cars. I don't know if I would even let the GT tpye cars run or not. Can you imagine all the SS/A, B and on down to about E running?

    Dreaming again.
