I'm starting to prime my '29 A pickup project today.
I'm looking for suggestions for color or color scheme.
I like black, medium metallic silver, Washington blue,
maybe some scallops, I don't know. What have ya got!
My modified is flat black, I'm wanting something different
    this time! Thanks! Joe

metalic silver with blue scalopps would look pretty cool. or a black body and a blue frame.... it's hard to pick the right color, i'm also trying to figure out what color to paint my 36... probably satin black body with a green metal flaked frame.

X2 and maybe with a little light blue/grey pinstriping for accent , nothing heavy . Nix the scallops , as the body is to short and has to many "bumps" in the way . My 2 cents .

There was a dude on here who painted his 28/29 truck like yours with the dark blue Rustoleum, looked very similar to Washington Blue and it turn out great!!

Don't have any pictures but I bet a search would turn it up, or maybe the dude will wander into this thread... :D

I just found the Hot Rod Flatz website and was suprised how much I like the Flat colors
they offer. Now I'm thinking gloss black frame and underpinnings with Flatz Hot Rod Red
or Blood Red or Steel Blue! (Now I'm totally confused!)

Oh yeah. Paint the body a different color than the frame.
Why does everybody that does this do this?

    Baffled in Calif.

Yes, Washington blue with medium grey and light blue pinstripes. Less is more sometimes, the truck needs a simpler paint job, let the truck speak, not the paint...nice truck:)

How about dark dark brown, like the Doyle Gammel coupe or my truck in my avatar.

I'd hit up the photo shop thread for some ideas. Some of those guys are amazing and can give you a great visual. They did it for me on my truck. I told them what color I was thinking and pro1street hooked me up with a bad ass picture.

Google Electron Blue. One of the best blues ever. You could add some silver for highlights. Great looking ride BTW.

I like the Washington blue, but I'd go a tad darker. A deep blue lacquer would look sharp with simple pinstripes.

I think this would look pretty badass with a glossy grey and maybe some minor red accents. Not really your typical primer paint and red wheels, you know?

Or maybe even WWII Navy colors, check out some aircraft pictures from then

The pictures I have of the truck were taken with my phone, I don't know a way to enlarge them. The truck is totally blown apart for primer so a regular camera won't do me any good now! Sorry.

My vote is for Washington blue; or a dark olive might be cool. Of course, black can look OK on a pickup also.......
Are you keeping the chrome reverse wheels? I like them!!

How about a good Red/Orange like Chevy Cardinal red from the late fifties commercial lines? It would still work well with the metallic silver underpinings we were talking about... NOT FLAT, JOE!!!

Don't worry Chip, I'm not going flat, just a suggestion from Jimbo. I'll have to find Cardinal Red. Someone on another site said Porsche Guards Red was a eye grabber in a solid color. I worked on the car all day and couldn't talk myself
into blue. Red's an eye grabber and I have had yellow and orange and I get tired of those. But not red ! So that's where it's going ! (Today)

It's not just the color that gets my attention, It's the whole package. If you have an outstanding hotrod, any color will get their attention. If not , color won't make a damn bit if difference.
