1960 caddy pics

Sorry to hi jack your thread Bro. This was supposed to be about your 60 so post some more pictures up!

 

since the OP is asking about wheels and hubcaps the posts seem to be relevant. it is my understanding that Cadillac hubcaps are specific to wheel of that certain model year. for example, a hubcap from a '60 won't fit on a '62 and etc. it seems the only exception is the '57.

'61-'64 cads have a larger outside rim diameter than the other cads. and the caps have the grips on the edge to grip the rims. and the wheels look weird. '65-'69? are similar style but a slightly smaller outside diameter. '60 wheel looks normal but cap is also a edge grip. btw... these '60s looks GREAT!!!!

 

^thanks for that clarification. a couple of years ago when i didn't know any better i had bought a set of '58 caps for my '66 but those didn't fit because of their larger diameter. Cadillac sure made things harder then they needed to be, haha.

Yeah my wife hasnt been to happy with me! I have been doing body and paint for over 20 years, I was on a mission with this car. The chrome sure gets expensive. still working on the interior trim.

Here's mine. I have a heck of a time keeping one of those hubcaps on. She's not as nice as the picture makes her look.

 

I agree the wheels are def wrong for such a killer Caddy!

 

I am working on the wheels .... Although I did get the Pismo Beach merchants Choice Award for the most attractive car last weekend at the Pismo Beach Just Cruzin show.Even with those ugly wheels on.

You did a helluva job on it. Body looks aero straight. The '60 Cadillac is one of those cars that looks custom from the factory.

Thank,s painting a car that long black is alot of work, but i like black. Your rite they do look pretty much custom from the factory.

 

keep the Cad. it'll be a lot cheaper to finish than building a '50 Merc

 

Gah! I would snap that Caddy up in a heartbeat if I had the money. Bought mine back in June...will definitely use this one as a reference of quality/straightness (and then prompty get frustrated when it doesn't turn out as nice!).

 

I know that building a 50 Merc will be expensive, so was the caddy. I doo all my own work except upholstery so ill be fine.
