The engine color is just Yellow Engine paint from Duplicolor, the exhaust manifold and master cylinder is Eastwood factory Gray cast Iron brush on paint.

Everytime we see strongly modified Edsel custom, it`s extremly ugly & ruined ? That proves that FoMoCo made perfect Factory Custom ! Right ?

Love this tread . and love drugasm car its perfect.

Running a 1970 390/C6 ( they were new rebuilt and got for free, a very good price)
Had to modify the stock trans cross member alot so I could still use my ebrake.
Also deleted the stock heater set up, the cables are a night mare plus it cleaned up the engine bay.
modified the dash pod to accept 2 5/8" guages, cut out the radio area of the dash and welded in new steel then cut out for heater controls from a 1970 F250 and added AM/FM/CD
Installed leather seats from a 1970 Linclon mark III, rest of interior not yet done as just yesterday had a major falling out with the upholstery shop and still having lots of drama.
front brakes are 1972 Torino disc. (almost a direct bolt in, had to slightly ream out tierod end hole) cut 1 coil (next time well use aerostar coils) and 2' blocks in rear.
    15X7 supreme's with thin W/W.
I have alot more fun with this car then my 55 belair I have owned since 1974.

^^ that metallic pink looks super great !!!
& reminds me, I would like to paint my Elli Edsel with metallic pearl lime colour + some white scallops. But not economical here in Finland !
If I keep My Edsel as stock as possible, (incl paint job) I can register my Elli as "historic vechile" Some great saving then I get:

annual safety inspections > every 4th year
    insurance about 80% cheaper
no pollution taxes (usually 300 euros / year !)

^^^ stock gauges looks much better... those are pure ART !

I have orginal Tacho but it is faded & brown, other gauges are green.
Also I miss orginal distributor + tacho cable.

I just bougth cheap 2" tacho made by autogage, that is 0-8000 RPM, orginal was 0- 5000 RPM.

I will soon take photo of Fuel Gauge, and with PaintShopPro, I will make
green gauge "bottom"< english name needed > and print it with color laser printer.. Not shure yet how I can remove needle from that autogage carefully..

okay, I was busy, see pics.

Should I put that 0-8000 RPM gauge to ebay for sale, asking 5000 USD,

ultra rare after production electric gauge for sale, works with 4bangers, 6bangers, and real motors, there is switch behind :D

  24. In 1950s, well before the Nader campaign, the US automotive industry was investigating safer designs
The Ford Edsel has incorporated many new safety features

I have that same tach in mine..... If that's 5000 that's almost more than I paid for the whole car!

  27. Never heard of the '58 Edsel having a crash absorber behind the front bumper. Was that a '58 only feature? Seems a bit odd to have that but then use a front hinged hood. In a front end collision that setup was usually faulted for having a tendency to push the rear edge of the hood back thru the windshield. May have used some specially designed hood latches to keep the back edge down and allow the hood to fold up in the middle.

Wow, where did these photos come from? I've been searching the web for Edsel related items for a while now and haven't come across these photos before. Neat find!
