Just had these sent to me - mods please delete if inappropriate. The Lexus ploughed through the flower bed before broadsiding the Pontiac and pushing it into the 1940 Ford 'vert, pushing both cars over one space. How fast was the driver going in the parking lot?:eek::eek:

you know that last pic really makes me rethink hardtops...

that really sucks though, I hate it for those guys.

  6. Did the Lexus driver survive the aftermath?

Couple of weeks ago a SUV ran a red light in a 30 MPH zone. Went into the side of a concrete block and brick building. Came out on the other side. Said his throttle stuck open. Apparently there is an epidemic of that lately.

EDIT: Looks like two women...the passenger being an old white woman...

Damn that really got to me. Crap! My mind goes back to a stuck accelerator of a Lexus down here in San Diego. Cop driving his lexus on the 56. He said it just took off. The end result made national news. Could this also be possible with this situation.

Oh my God! Imagine taking your ride to a show, hearing the crash, and turning around to see your car in that shape. My car is nowhere near as nice as either of those, but I think I would have an aneurysm.

That Pontiac folded up like a house of cards....ouch!

Judging from the pics it appears that no cry-baby dolls were injured in the accident either.

Oooh. That's tough to look at. They really need to stop giving out licenses like pedophiles give out free candy. . .

Good thing nobody was sitting in that poor pontiac. I sure hope they had full coverage on it.

The shots through the drivers side window looking at the front of the Lexus, reminds me of a scene from Jaws! So sad.

The Lexus driver was shaken but unscathed. That's a big 'ol insurance claim there. My heart goes out to the show car owners....

I was just thinking the same thing. I missed out on a 53 Merc 2 door hard top for a family cruise and just score a 58 Edsel 4 door sedan. I like the Edsel but was kind of bummed about missing out on the Merc because 53 2 door htops are awesome but now I feel better about my family crusing in a 4 door sedan. That's just a parking lot...imagine what would have happened on the road.

My condolences to the family of the Lexus driver. May he rest in peace.

They DID beat him to death ... right?

What a tragedy ! Hope no one in the Lexus was badly hurt, but that Poncho was just plain "sandwiched" between the Lexus & the Ford.

I would not attempt to rebuild that car ! Not only is the body shot, but from the looks of the impact, the frame is probably bent too.

A sad day for ALL concerned.

Weasel I see that the Lexus is from Cerritos. Where was this car show? Were the pics taken today or last week?

Lexus is a Toyota product and they just went through the uncontrollable gas pedal thing. Sucks for the classics. I would agree that Pontiac is now good for parts donor.

Apparently this happened last Wednesday and judging by the buildings in the photos I would hazard a guess that it was in Orange County CA.

The '53 Merc metal/frame is probably sturdier than the Pontiac's, but the Edsel is a cool car.

Now, Studebaker Avanti's are cool cars too, saw one of the VERY FIRST one's when I was in California in 1962. BUT, like Vette's, they are fibeglass and I saw what was left of one last year after it crashed & killed the driver...who was a well respected member of the Stude Club.

The front half of that car pretty much just flat "tore off" of the body as the car flipped over going down an embankment...killing the driver and leaving me with a fonder appreciation of my old full-framed '53 Buick 2-dr Post. (See it in my albums.)

Note: Picture the Avanti below without the front clip !

I got a lump in my throat, it was actually disturbing to see. My God! I'm sure the Lexus driver didn't intend for it to happen, but still... I just don't know what to say or feel for the owners of the other 2 cars. I'm glad that no one was seriously hurt. This is disturbing. Could it have been a stuck accelerator? Isn't Lexus made by Toyota? I'm so sorry for the owners of those 2 beautys
