I bought this car from the estate of a friend who passed away about 2 years ago. I think the last time it was on the road was 1993. My friend bought it as a finished car in the early 80's. Basically unchanged except for the required 80's improvments like wire wheels, digital gauges, etc. I dont know when it last ran, but was driven into his mom's shed years ago. So, her we go on another fun-filled adventure in old car resurrection! :)

Polish the paint, redo the interior and slap on a set of Steelies and you got it.

You've got nothing there to but freshen up, polish up, maybe a brake job, a grease job, pack some wheel bearings, replace the tires and ride for a good long time while you decide if you even want to kill a live car that is that nice. There is nothing at all wrong with those wire wheels on that car except maybe the hubcaps, not a good picture of them in the bunch. That car is sweet!

  6. VERY cool. agreed, ditch the wire wheels and digital gauges, toss on some steelies and clean the paint and interior. Done

  7. Nice find, and as said above....lose those wheels

That's cool. some old torqu thrust or ss cragars would look good, or some 5 slots. Maybe some white face gauges.... Even if you just get it running and don't change anything it's still cool

  10. Looks like there is a better choice of steering wheels hanging on the wall...

So, she's back at the shop now. Time to evaluate where we want to go with this thing. Overall, its very solid with no rust showing through the 25+ year old paint.

I've had a twin to the wheel that is in the 36 in the 48 at one time and those buggers look decent but will eat your fingers up after a couple hundred miles at a shot. Lots of rough edges around the rivet holes .

The car looks great from here. Sits great too and I sure don't see how it is rough. You need to get rid of the mice though.

I'd keep the wheels and change the center caps. For it's era it's a nice car! They usually had the wheels sticking out past the fenders then. I'd change the steering wheel and column first! Awesome find!

Yes, the wheel goes first. And actually, it is a nice car for the era.

Neat find. A little soap, a few detail improvements, and you will have a great ride.

pop the valve covers and look for mouse nests...same for the oil pan...you'll thank me later.

those little buggers can get into a valve cover pcv hole.

I agree, I'm picking a mouse nest out of the water jackets of an engine right now.... What a mess.

Awesome car, after a few minor changes it'll be a stunner.
