I bought a set of Firestone tires. One side has a ridge and one side doesn't. Are you guys running with the ridge to the inside or the outside?

i'm on my second set. i just figured the ridge was built in curb rash thing. both sets mounted outside.

outside, their whitewalls are on the ridge side so that's the side I put out on the blackwalls too.

  6. Outside for me as well. Primarily based on what Thunderbirdesq said.

ive seen them equally the same both ways . but, personally i prefer the cleaner look of running them to the inside.

I like the smooth look of them turned inside!

I don't like the date code showing so I have the ridge on the outside .

  10. For what it's worth, I just took delivery of a new set of 6.00-16 Deluxe Champions this week and they have the ridge on both sides...

My 8.20-15s had the ridge on both sides, so I put the barcode on the inside!

  12. My Firestone 5.60 x 15 tires have a heavy thick ridge on one side as well! I mounted my 15 x 4 Cragar SS wheels both ways to see what looks better? Looks like the curb /ridge side ( 1st pic) has a better looking Firestone lettering embossed on the sidewall!

For what it's worth, I just got off the phone with Coker and they said it's to prevent curb rash and (as suspected by some of y'all) it's personal preference on how you want to mount them. There's no other differences between the two sidewalls.

Thought someone searching may find that bit of info. helpful. :)

I'd mount the ridge on the inside, they look funny the other way. I have a set of Pro-Trac 5.60 15's on the front of my Comet that I bought directly from Coker here in Fresno. The guy mounted them with the ridge out and I hated them so much I was almost embarrassed to drive it. I had them flipped around ASAP and it looks 100% better.
