Never be shy about thanking a vet. Make it a point to shake their hand and thank them. I'm glad that many of the old guard wear a vet hat so we can pick them out of a crowd. Even a small act of kindnes goes a long way. If you see a soldier eating out pick up the tab if you can. See one in line at the "quickie mart" pay for his or her soda. Do what ever small thing you can do. They are appreciative and you will feel good too!

Unfortunately, there's too many people who've come to think that all Memorial Day is about is getting a good price on a new mattress-- So many folks don't get the REAL MEANING of the day... Salute ALL the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice... Diana

    Once again,...

I will find a quiet moment and spend some time with names, faces, smiles, laughs, jokes, words of those that will never grow old,... But will forever live on in my heart & mind,...

As you visit with your families & friends today, watch children & grandchildren playing, go to a car show,a parade, or just enjoy a quiet day,.... Please remember what your enjoying, came at a very high cost.

I have had the great pleasure to have known common men that gave everything they have,.. or ever will, to pay the price of your and my freedom, I think of them often, but never more than on this day. Please just know, there were those willing and able to do for most Americans, what they could not do for them selfs.

So,... what ever your doing today, take a moment,... and think of not only there individual sacrifice, but the sacrifice of Mothers, Fathers, Wifes, Husbands and most of all Children,... who live on with pride & loss,... And please, teach the children, this day isn't about picnics, yard games & bonfires, It's about those who will never grow old,...
The ones that should be your honored guests in all you do today, the ones that "paid the price".

I've always wondered how many guys who didn't make it back would have been future HAMBERS. I feel lucky that I got to live this long.
