man, this is terrible. I called my friend alan bilke on here and he said they missed it by 5 blocks. I think his daughter is only a 2 months old. I didn't realize how bad til today. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone.
Pass this along: the NEW number to call to volunteer or check on loved ones in JOPLIN is 417-659-5464.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone. Didn't realize the devastation until today, was busy taking shelter up here in Iowa last nite, mostly just wind and hail up here.
Thanks, I just PM'd him to see how he is and to ask if he could get ahold of Carl to see if him and his family are OK.
Bob is ok. His house was desreoyed. He was in the only room that did not suffer damage, His shop had one wall damaged from material from the building next to his shiop. On the west. His newest personal hot rod suffered a small nick. The wall damaged was on the side where his office and the large bay where he does his metal working and car building. He is on his way to attempt to secure the building from more water damage. All I have at the moment.
Such a terrible thing to happen in Joplin, and everywhere else. my prayers go out to everyone. The networking on the HAMB is amazing. Glad to hear that everyone is ok. How is it looking this morning? I heard more storms were coming though.
Yeah, the area is supposed to be hit again today, but as always with these storms, no one will know just how bad until it actually happens. As of 9am according to the local Fox news station, they had 89 confirmed dead. Seems the storms are getting stronger and stronger these days.
I just cannot believe the destruction and I am saddened by the loss of life. All I can do is hope for the best for those folks.
All I can offer is my prayers to all that are touched by this huge storm.... We just suffered through the same thing a couple of weeks ago and until it hits home ,its real hard to understand how it affects your everyday life afterwards... Good luck to all , Prayers to one and all... God Bless...........
Thanks, it's going to be weird this August with all the destruction. I know 6 weeks later I'm still driving by it every day
Glad to hear that Carl & Family are ok. I forgot to mention them last night. WOW! http://www.news-leader.com/article/...med-thus-far?odyssey=mod|defcon|img|FRONTPAGE
Thoughts and prayers go out to all effected. I have been through a tornado very similar to this and it will stay with you for life.
Just gave some blood at the Red Cross, they can use all they can get of this stuff. Am easy way to help. ~sololobo~

Denise you are so right about that! High school graduation was yesterday, but it was on the north end of town, so they were all out of the way.
Thanks for the concern D and al. We were racing when it all started, I think some of the racers went south on their way home. As of now we are still looking for a few of them, I assume they are OK, just haven't heard. We know for sure one Jr dragster family lost their rig when they stopped at McDonalds. They are OK, having hid in the cooler with other customers and employees. later! Carl
Just got back from taking food, drinks, and personal cleaning supplies to some of the shelters. While the pics and videos look bad, it doesn't tell a 10th of the story, really looks bad guys! Man if I had a penny for all the camera guackers getting in the way of the people doing something, I'd have a fortune right now!!
