atlas tire

    so i picked one of these old white walls up today is it worth anything or is it just a wall hanger like i think

  3. Trust your instincts here. Wall hanger like you think. Haven't seen an Atlas tire in years, probably since the '70s, so it's got to be old, wouldn't want to trust any tire that old at highway speeds. (Although Cedartown GA Fire Department has a '48 American LaFrance pumper with 11,000 miles and the Goodyear tires that have been on it 63 years!) Atlas made a good quality tire back in the day, had Atlas Plycrons on my '55 Ford when I was in high school, don't think they came as original equipment on anything. I remember them being sold at Amoco, Chevron, and Esso stations around here.

    i got it with a bunch of oil cans and pepsi bottles i bought today thought it was a cool looking tire so if its junk no biggy but i would hate to have something someone can use...its not dry rotted or tore up looks basically new with dust...lol

    Clean it up and put it in a tire stand in front of the garage.......

  11. i got 4 atlas blackwalls on my shoebox 2 snowtires even as i type this i cant believe they still hold air

    my t-bird had a set of KMART tires onit when i bought it it still has 2 of them on it
     
  12. You could get one of these single tire display holders......if you wanted
    to just sit the tire somewhere. There is probably lots of advertising
    pieces for these tires. Just check eeebay.
