Dose anyone know of a good chrome replating shop in the Michigan Wisconsin area? Or in the midwest anywhere?

There was a thread a while ago, platers in the chicago area. Might want to look at that.

Name escapes me at the moment but the chrome shop in Grafton,Ohio does excellent work. Chrome is one of those items that shouldn't be done on a price alone basis. Cheap chrome is cheap chrome and after it's done will only cost more to have it done over the right way.

I just got some stuff back from B&L. Vic knows how to put a finish on something but that's only 1/2 the job. It still has to go back together. So many chrome shops don't give a rat's ass about fit. They're all about the final finish. FWIW, there's a car I finished recently that was done by Custom Chrome about 4yrs ago. Nice finish...except where I had to grind the shit out of the way to assemble the car. Me personally, I prefer to work "with" a plater. By that I mean I want to check fit and finish before it commits to final plating. Sometimes I want to do the surfacing/finishing and just need someone to copper it up for me. I especially like to repair my own diecast. Ok, so I'm picky. I also know when just plain ol plated is enough, and for that I use Micro Plating in Romulus, MI. Kevin also works close with me and offers super fast turn around and excellent price/value. The down side to Micro is they don't do diecast, aluminum, or anything else that requires copper. Their main gig was bumpers back in the day an they still do a nice "OEM" looking bumper. He will go all the way if you want it and are willing to spend what it takes.

I restore pretty high-end stuff here as some of you already know, and I'm happy with both of these guys.
