Try this place, they seem to have quite a bit of information on the stuff you are interested in.

Ha. Ha. Ha. I understand, SEARCH. I have. I was wondering if there is like a website devoted specifically to photo's of early customs and such.

The work of George Barris made a huge impact on me, at a very young age.

Just make sure you turn down the volume on your speakers before visiting his site.

There are some good books out covering customs of that era but I'd say that the best source would be the car magazines from that era. Hit a few swap meets and look for custom car magazines and "specials" from that period. That way if you are trying to set the car in a certain time frame you will get it right and not someone else's opinion of what was right for the era. And remember that the trends might have differed a bit in different parts of the country and sometimes cars up north or back east may have been a bit behind the California cars. Unlike today were we see what is at the shows and in the garages the same day or even within minutes of when the photos were taken here on the HAMB back in the sixties you would see photos of the GNRS, Detroit or other big shows four to six months after the show happened.
