    Just want to share this with you guys....
    After deciding to do a quick re-seal job on my 390 Mercury Super Marauder FE, I noticed that 5 of the 8 pistons got cracks : http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=537384

    So another route: Complete rebuild, new bearings/pistons/cam/lifter, the works. When I was rebuilding I got some problems:

    All the problems where solved thanks to this great forum and the fordfe.com forum. Thanks guys you really helped alot!!!

    Now some pic's:

    While I was at it, I wanted the FE to be a good looking motor:
    Great looking vintage Edelbrock "no hole" valvecovers and Offy breathers:

    The motor in it's natural habitat:

    The motor run great with the Crower Baja Beast cam. And it's leak free!!!
    So, or I got lucky or I'm a great engine builder to get the FE leak free :D.

    Wow that's beautiful. I just picked up a 390 that needs a rebuild. Its gonna replace the leaky 361 that's in there now. Who and what parts did you use? I am mostly concerned about the rear seal..... It leaks on the clutch now.

    Those VC are beautiful and that's a good color too.

    Thanks guys,
    Yes it runs on propane/LPG. I Live in the Netherlands so LPG is much cheaper than gas.... This way I can use the Wagon as a daily driver in and around Amsterdam.

    @DRUGASM: I used Speed pro Hypereutectic Pistons from Ebay, a complete Summit rebuild set with a Felpro gasket set. The rear seal was oke to put in but the two nails to seal the bearing cap where a hell to get properly....
    Cam and lifters are Crower. Ignition is a Petronix ignitor III but that still needs some tuning.

    @deuces:
    I check the spraycan, the paint I used is VHT universal Gold. I did use the VHT primer before the gold. Paint started to peel at the exhaust ports on the heads during the break in :-(
