59 ElCamino Roadster body, who has it?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Fat ASS Whitewalls, Apr 14, 2005.

  1. About a year ago, I saw pictures of a 59 ElCamino's bedsides, and tailgate made into a Roadster body, Where'd it go, who has it? That thing was cool. Dean

I dig it, it has a meanacing look to it. It reminds me of something you could have seen on the Munsters.

Thanks for filling me in. Way to cool. Seems every time someone comes up with a "new" idea, someone else uncovers it's already been done long ago.

  20. That's the one. Now that I'm looking at it, it's not made from an ElCamino, or a wagon, it's made from a passenger car. The taillights are one piece, ElCaminos, and wagons, had two piece taillights. Thanks, Dean

Yngrodder and I found about a half dozen 59 Impalas the other day at a guys place. Don't worry, I wasn't too interested it them. I'll let you have your fun, but don't drag your feet too long because when I need a new project I know where they are! Ha Ha Ha

    Aaron,
I've been welding two volkswagon beetles together vertically to make a buttcheekmobile if you are interested. I can't get the thing to pass emissions here so I'd sell it cheap.

Man, that thing's cool. The guy I was apprenticing with back in '78 was building something similar from a '61 cats-eye Comet...

I can't see the picture but I think it's the same one Oddrod bought from Bill Rutledge [Moonman}here in Conroe. It was supposedly built in the 60's here in the Pasadena area. It changed hands probably 10 times over the last 10 years. No one would pull the trigger and build it. I saw an old picture of it when the guy in Pasadena[texas} had it.
