Fitchburg, Mass Swap, Who's going?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Straightpipes, Apr 6, 2011.

  1. I went and am back home (2 1/2 hour drive one way). A lot of parts. some good deals. Was looking for some vintage modified race car parts, got there at 8:30 and was about 10 minutes late on getting a vintage race car rear end. Come to find out someone from Altamont, NY bought it.

Was My wife was dissapointed when I told her there were no sewing machines (she collects them).

    I'll post some pictures later.

[IMG] My wife and I went to Fitchburg today, had a good time visiting a lot of old friends. The weather was a mix of rain, sunshine, hot, and cold...typical New England spring weather. Here is Bob Nulman, Jared Bruliard, Koby Broderick looking for some bargins. I have about a dozen more random photos that I will post.

Didn't find any "treasure", but it's all about the hunt for it. Here's Coney Island at night with the old '57 parked out front.

The rain woke me up around 4 am, it sounded like Niagra Falls and then at 6, it just stopped. Got there about 7 and the place was already hoppin. Took one lap around and decided to sell some stuff. Sold lots of stuff at blowout prices and got to see lots of friends. Packed up around 11:30 just before another black rain cloud hit. Funny there was still people coming in at that time. It's pretty much over by then.

Saw a couple of good deals. Did not find what I was looking for but saw soggy friends and got to stop at Dennys for breakfast on the way home. All in all it was still a good time.

I really restrained from buying anything, Iv been thinning the herd for the past year so I can concentrate on a few projects.

The Diner rocks! Best grub in town.

hey straightpipes, it was nice meeting ya! I'm the guy who bought the 39 shifter towers from you!

great meet as usual, got there at 6:20 and got a little wet but not bad. brought more stuff home for myself than I had in a long time. got a 32 hood, 40 spring, the shift towers, and a set of pedals.

was I the only one droOOOOOLlling over that 32 cabriolet body for $5k?? made me want to start all over on my 5 window turned cabriolet. just kept thinking, If only I had those windshield posts!, or the doors! or the quarters! sigh...... what a project the car would have been, but a fun project!
