Since ALL Model A coupes were 5 windows the term is not traditionally applied to this segment of Ford production. thus the year and Model A coupe is all that is necessary to describe an A. It was only after the model year included both 3and 5 window offerings the 5window and 3window terms were used to differentiate between the coupe offerings. Frank
you must be an old fart. young farts think model A 5 window is perfectly OK. I'm an old fart too. damn kids....
heres mine still straped to the pallet i brought it home on, two years ago, it has made it into the shop.
If i had on fenders id surely post pictures. Five window minus three window is two windows. They never made them, I dont think.
I used to have motorcycle fenders on the front but I took them off years ago. Abreviated fenders on the back. You did ask for pictures didn't you?
Seems like it's a misnomer that has so much momentum lately that it's just become "correct." If everyone says it, it must be right... it just becomes part of the language through continued use. Still bugs me though, a model A coupe is just a coupe.
If you had a sport coupe, you wouldn't just call it a coupe though- There's a lot more than the amount of windows differentiating a sport coupe from a coupe.
first off, he asked for pics of five widows. that to me means '32 and, up. the '28-'31 model a's had three window sport/special coupes. so why all the BS about it? when i say i like tri-five chevys do you ask what three i like? no, you dont! this is why so many people dont stay on this board.
