55 Pontiac, 348 4speed ever done before?

    Hey guys just started my new project a 55 Pontiac 2dr post and I'm planning on dropping my 348 W block in it with a 4 speed I was just curious if this has been done before if so I wanna see some pics as well as pics of custom 55 Pontiac's to give me some ideas. Thanxs guys.

    OOOHHHHH!!! I want to see this for sure! I know the Pontiac block is HUGE would think the W motor would have enough room. Lets see some photos of your car.... and the engine too!
     
  4. Is it a Canadian spec Pontiac or a US version? If it is a Canadian car the swap should be relatively easy as they used Chevrolet underpinnings.Remember seeing a Pontiac wagon(63 or 64)with a factory 409 in it on one of the websites.Neat car.

    Its a US Pontiac.

    They fit in a 55 chev so physically it will fit in the Poncho. It would be easier to install a pre-60 389 however since engine mounting would be Poncho...
    The swing pedals and clutch linkage will be your biggest headache.

    I put swing pedals in my 56 Pontiac from a 55-57 chevy. Used a hydraulic clutch to make things easier.

    shweet engine there ,wont need a lite to work on it in the dark lol , sounds like a cool project , i will follow along , if you post more pics

    Well I made some home made motor mounts and tranny mount motor fits great and is bolted in. Now time to work on clutch and firewall mount brake booster I will throw up some pics soon.
