A tri-five chevy or 4wd s-10 rear end is probably the most common swap? They are both a good width for these cars. I've read about people using certain camaro rear ends, but I think they're a little on the wide side. I'm sure there is a ford 9-inch that has about the right width and would probably handle the 6.0 liters power better.

    Hope this helps!

I believe the width should be like 54 inches plate to plate to center everything up. Its been awhile tho since ive measured mine.

yeah i thought the same thing about the 9 inch . i went and bought a versailles rear end that is 58 and 1/2 wide but a hot rodder here told me i wanted to be narrower like from a camaro

Camaro 8.5" 10-bolt or just get a 9" if you plan on making more power.

Mine is out of a 78 Camaro, width is perfect. I'm running skirts and the original steels.
