Event Coverage Tons of Photos, Drag Racing, March Meet, Yesterday, Finally............

As you know the "March Meet" at Famoso/Bakersfield was scheduled for March 18-20. The final day was cancelled due to wind, so yesterday, March 26, was the rescheduled date.
First, a huge "thank you" to Ryan for allowing me to use the HAMB as my "official" leverage to get a photo credential. The last time I had a photo cred. was in 1975 at Irwindale for the "Coca-Cola 64 Funny Car" show. Crap, 36 years ago.
So, the least that I can do is to urge you guys to step up and become an "Alliance Member". Everyone needs to help support the HAMB as it supports us with so much information friendship and enjoyment.
As the Nike ad says, "Just Do It".

So, here's some photos. Unlike the California Hot Rod Reunion, there are no photos of nostalgia cars, cackle cars, or any of that, just bare-bones racers and some bucks-up guys, but all there to race to win....and that's the goal, pure and simple....



got there at 7AM and it was drizzling, not raining, but just enough moisture to cause everyone fits...





from the staging lanes, it was looking pretty grim, but there were some bright spots in the sky...



finally....a few hours later, they were waiting in the staging lanes...

next time, I'll get some ear protection...this gets painful after awhile

Just Plain BITCHIN', Mazooma !!!~

I watched the live stream, or at least a lot of it, yesterday.
Wondering how the Graves and King Top Alky Dragster did, I think he broke out in the semi's, IIRC, 7.58 on a 7.60 Dial-In, I think...Chip Wimer I've known for quite a few years, and I know for a fact he just used the TAD trailer a few months back to drag home a late '31 indented firewall RPU from right around here... like 15 feet away from where I'm typing this right around here..
