    ditto!

  4. :D YES ! I forgot to mention that, those rims are pretty hardcore early style. A historical place like Bobs with all to look at and pretty good food and shakes but there was just to many muscle cars and 70s stuff to have a good time?. This thread is almost as funny as the movie I was watchin earlier tonight.

i used to dig Bob's on any Friday night... always cool/nice people. wasn't always into all the cars, but i enjoyed being there.
even now, any time i'm in LA i'll head over. not nearly as fun going there in a rental car... but still pretty fun.

I was never under the impression that Bob's only catered to cars that were made when you still were able to crank them.

I came down from san Diego and a great time. The turn out was good and I met a good friend there and he has hooked me up with some great NOS ford stuff.so yeah it was worth it to be there just for the that .

I went one Friday night in September 2009.

Saw a bunch of good cars, talked some great crap to a bunch of hot rodders, so I ain't gunna complain.

like all get-togethers - it depends on who's there.

  15. Yeah...no doubt. That's how California ended up with over ten percent of the population of the USA living there....

  18. Couldn't agree more, we'd love a Bob's down here in bubbatown. Went a year ago to the Downey one, had a blast, even met some of my West Coast hero's.

And if you arrived an hour later, you would have seen a new batch of cars. Guys seem to get there early to park under the canopy. I could give a shit. Out back, people are in & out all night long.

  25. Arrived at 4:30? Hell, most working class hero Hot Rodders are still working at that time. By the time we get home, clean up, grab the old lady and head out in So Cal traffic it's at least 7:00 before we roll in to a Friday night cruise spot.
Not to mention there was pretty bad weather for us that night, and before you say anything else stupid, you have to remember that with our mostly killer weather here, we don't take our cars out in rainy crap - we don't have to, tomorrow will be better and that way we don't have to waste time cleaning them from the few days of rain we do get.
Stay in Ohio, and keep the other whiners about California with you.

Yeah, that's one of the things I thought was cool when we went to Bob's for the GNRS. The cars are constantly rotating in and out getting fresh specimens to look at constantly. Pretty cool.

Don't know what the guy is whinning about. I love all "old" cars, everything from old school hot rods, customs, muscle cars, lowriders. It all boils down to the same thing: love of cars. And besides, all those gold chain wearing grey beards are the same guys that lived the 50s and 60s. They are the real thing not some 20 something wannabe so those old farts deserve to drive any car they want. And that cry baby photo says it all. Perfect!

Wow those pics must be the horror he is talking about, man it's too bad people have to deal with that type of car scene...will California ever learn? Lol
