1953 chevy truck headers

    got a 283 with straight axle and original steering. shortie block huggers from speedway not fitting. any suggestions?

    I had to move my steering box over and dimple my block huggers to fit.

    It's near impossible to get any manifold or header to clear the stock steering box if the engine is centered in the frame. I think when we did mine we moved the box out an inch and a half but ran stock ramhorn manifolds.
    A lot of guys have offset the engine to the right side to clear. it looks a bit hokey to some but it might actually be a better choice than moving the steering box and bending the pitman arm.

    Try Sanderson Headers. Lots of SBC options there
