I can not believe that '49 coupe in NY sold. That is a miracle, unless the price came down a few zillion bucks. That last '50 four door pictured I did so much investigative work on only to get the dude on the phone and say he had no interest in selling it. I should try again, its been a few years. I think there was a business attatched to the property, that's how I tracked him down. Nice enough fella.

These havent moved in years. They are in a grove of trees that used to be a farmyard.

Found this in a machine shop in L.A. where it had been sitting since 1961. The original owner blew the engine and never got around to fixing it. The engine was out of the car sitting in a pile next to it. I bought the car from the estate and kept the engine for my Deuce. It came with Offy heads, Weiand manifold, Mallory distributor, Fenton headers, and a Winfield cam. Mike Fennel bought it from me, put an original engine in it, and cleaned it up for his wife Julie.

my wife Stephanie's 51, for whatever reason i didn't get a pic of it in its 20+ year resting place..i probably just wanted it on the trailer quickly so i knew it was ours! and the ol'timers merc, sat out side for quite awhile then he finally put it under cover..

I had a totally rust free 49 sedan that was missing it's diff and front suspension when i got it, I sold it to a guy who had a perfect chassis he got from someone who did a chassis swap, and every time I ran into this guy for years he would tel me about the progress, what he had done, what was left and so on, then last fall I am visiting a friends yard and there is my old Merc, half stripped with the rear window gone and the rest of them smashed with shitty rattle-can flames on it... I almost cried... Now I get the occasional thought to buy it back and fix it myself before it starts to rot.

And here is one I picked up for a guy last fall.

  23. Here's a couple laying upsidedown in the woods by my house, it used to be a junkyard many many years ago. I've tried to cut off anything good and useable. hvychvy has one of the door bottoms on his merc now.
