Anybody into the 57 Ford......

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Pitts642, Jan 18, 2010.

  1. I don't know, I did full 2.5" duals on a 390GT engine in one a few years ago. Had a 4 spd. Not one spot touched anywhere. Factory manifolds fit just fine. They put FE's in the 58-up which is pretty much the same. They fit just fine without any mods. Certainly not an "easy" exhaust to bend, but if you know what your doing, it isn't bad at all.

I've owned about 10 '57s, none too nice, mostly parts cars. I still have three out back and a nice project in coming in from a friend soon. Two '57 Customs, one Fairlane Victoria and a Country Squire Wagon left.

As far as exhaust IMO they should all have headers anyway. The flat manifolds
    suck .

  9. That's his black 57. The white one is the 'White Pearl' pretty famous east coast custom that he worked on. Was later owned by Gene Pitney. Check my profile. I started three threads based on his car albums. Good stuff

  10. Sweet! Where'd you find it?

  11. How did this one get missed?

That black ranchero is pretty slick. Just the way I want to build one. Wife hates rancheros so much, I compromised and bought a Ranch Wagon. instead. More family friendly.

It is actually torn apart now. I am going to go ahead and paint it. In the pics is flat black primer.

I agree with her... I love wagons... I had a Courier with windows that looked a lot like yours but my Country Sedan has and still is my all time favorite... Ford sold over 120K wagons in 57 so they were appreciated for there design and function

57's are cool! Had a '57 ranchwagon for a while, now I have the following 57s, but they're all projects: skyliner retractable, ranchero, ranchwagon-4door, fairlane 500. would love to have them all going but I think I may sell them.

57's have always been my favorite. I've owned my 2dr vic since about 1976. I'm in the process of restoring it now. Has alot more rust than I thought so it's going to be a long time before it's done. I especially like the pic of the 2 tone green one.
