Nice intro, read the rules first please. Do you normally just barge into someplace and blurt out a question? Just a friendly hint from an old timer on the board. BB
Thanks for looking, here's some pics of the ol' car. A 1926 "T" based sprint car. Rajo BBR head and a overhead cam conversion. Ran at many tracks in the midwest. Once driven by Mauri Rose.
Welcome Wits End Garage. Nice looking old sprinter. Does it have any Iowa history ? Would love to see some more of the stuff that's in the "Garage", especially the open wheel stuff. Tell Denny hello.
Just did a double take on this sprinter. It looks a lot like Mark Heathmans, especially the color combinations. Good luck with the search for info. There are already 700 plus pages on the older sprint car thread and some of it goes way back to old stuff like yours. There are also lots of Model T, Model A, speedster and "banger" folks on here, so welcome again.
That didn't take long, about 2 hours. Welcome aboard, where in Iowa are you located? I ask because I would like to look at your shop on my next trip through Iowa, that is if you do welcome visitors. Thanks BB
Yes i've seen this car at the Miller..Does your knock-offs have safty locks that engage the end of the hub?
The hubs themselves are grooved for some sort of locking device when used with hex shaped hub nuts that were used in some applications. The racing knockoffs on our cars have no safety locks--they are just hammered on
