Steel 32 ford 3 window rebuild

so much inspirational fab work its hard to know what to focus on first.

feels good to finely get something done on the rear end, I now need to finish up the other side and make one more tail light. The aluminum side cover worked out great and trimmed out the edge around the oval spreader bar. I need to make something on the center of the louvered panel yet...I have a coulpe of idea's rolling around in the ol noggin.

ARE THE LOUVRES ON THE LOWER PAN VISIBLE FROM THE REAR ?
maybe they could become brake lites with led's ..........
i know i know it may be to mod but tail lites thet are brite will help you and the goofy knobs dazzled by your car in front of them ...

Im Back!!
I had to stop work on the 32 and make some money haha....I worked on this backing plate project most of the weekend and Im pretty happy with the fit and the overall looks. Im not sure on the fins..pretty lame detail but I was tired and needed it to be done, I can cut them off after there cast but there staying for now. I will get a couple cast up and see how they look and maybe make changes then.

Crafty, I agree with you I think the fins are not the way to go. I think it looks better with out them.
Will this be a new part for you to market ? Is it designed to work with tje Lincoln repo brakes ? Sure got my interest.

I LOVE those with the fins! I'd definitely buy a pair if you cast some up.

I think the fins look cool but also think the plate lacks something, very nice work though.

 

The fins on the backing plates need to stay! Great build!

 

I figured out what to do for more detail on the top area..just have to get it done! and it looks like they will fit the lincoln backing plates so far...might have to remove just a hair on the center round flange height but thats easy..

Crafty, Let me know what kind of deal you would sell them for. Are they made to work with the Ford drums ?

Those covers are in one of the optimal 'in your face' locations on the car. Have you thought about getting some free advertising by putting your logo on them? That way folks know where they can get a set of their own.

I just seen this post today.......Funny I was just thinking about this car a few weeks ago, And was wondering what had happened to it....I think I still have some of the pics of it when it was listed on ebay......At the time I wanted it bad!...And his price was what i thought to be fair, I myself was not scared of the body damage...I just couldn't rasie the cash at the time.....Do you still have the original rear rollpan?....Alot of guys thought it looked goofy, But I thought it was kinda cool looking and would be interested in buying it if you saved it....That whole car was cool as hell sitting there in that lot...And was begging me to buy it But I just couldn't make it happen at the time......Anyhow I am glad to see it again and happy someone did something with it...
