I have a '58 brookwood wagon. I'm pretty sure, but not completely sure that the chassis from any 58 (except the convertible) will fit it. Is this correct? Heck for that matter any x-frame '58-'64 should fit it... again except the convertible... right? thanks shane
58-64 should work ...check the wheelbase on your wagon. I just spent a few days repairing an x frame 62 for a friend. We should have found another...dam thing was rusted to hell and back. M.
Good deal I thought so. I'm hoping the parts car I used to know of is still there... I had a good frame under it... a rolling chassis as it were. which is more then I can say for my wagon.
You should send a pm to Ryno here, he has a 59 or 59 brockwood wagon (I believe) that he's done a pretty nice build thread on. Perhaps he has some info he could share with ya.
Dont quote me on it, but I think that there were some changes in 59 to improve some aspects of the frame......and that 58 was kind of an oddball
I believe you are correct and the wagon frames were slightly different behind the rear axle IIRC. Been a few decades since I was under one though.
Hollander #830 1958 Chevrolet pass. except convertible. #831 1958 Chevrolet pass. convertible Dosen't matter 2 door, 4 door, hardtop, sedan, or wagon.
The upper arm on my 60 El Camino has a pretty substantial curve on it. Thst's sbout all I can tell you.
The '58 chassis are a single year only item. The '59-64 will not interchange due to the difference in wheelbase. Follow what was posted by "oldolds" above.
The convertible frames aren't that much different and I'm pretty sure even they could be used under the wagon. I'm working on two converts and a Hard top for a customer right now. He has two wagons out back, unfortunately, they are buried in snow. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.
for what its worth i have a 63 frame laying around that i dont need if anyone may be interested in it
appreciate it, but I think I'm going to find a good 58 parts car. I have a couple leads here in oklahoma.
