Most families in the 1950's-early 1960's looked like this.

dad traded in the '52 for a volvo. said he needed something conservetive.(bad spelling) proper order of pictures is the third one first... (the 'test drive' with stopping by the house to show the volvo to the wife and kiddies)... then second the dealer photo and third is the second picture with the chrysler new yorker wheel covers on the volvo. I've wondered where that ranch wagon is.. or was.

'70's Torana's are probably a "bit modern" for the thread.

This model Vauxhall Viva was, unfortunately, also sold in Australia (with 60% Australian content ??????????) before being re-branded as Holden Torana for the next model.

Before the Torana's and drives overseas, Brian Muir drove this Austin A30 (ex George Dent) in the late 1950's. Note the louvred bonnet -

    :)

Here's a link to a bit on Torana's. The one with the #8 with the "Lovell Springs" bumper was co-driven by Brian Muir. The other driver was Sir Jack Brabham.

Check out the kids in the upper right photo of this from a couple posts earlier.

It certainly has to be the earliest photo yet of a hot rodder.
Anyone have any idea of a year taken or donor car?
    Impressive grouping of photos.

The Torsilastic suspension in Tuckers had a tendency to squat after a few years. It was something new they were trying in 1948.

I think these are Dodge or Plymouth hubcaps on this car. They are not stock Tucker. Most owners had a hard time keeping them on the cars as people would steal them for souveniors
