I wet my shop down, and cover stuff so I don't get over spray on them. As long as weather conditions are co operating the paint comes out good.

These were not color sanded or buffed.

As I recall Bill Carter was the main man painting/designign back then? A buddy bought a lowrider round 75-77 and it was the first real showpainted lowrider in Sweden. Is Carter still around?

Man the Nomad is slick. But that ford is amazing, truly shows the crossover/ transition from custom to lowrider check out the body work. The raised cowl to hide the wipers just like modern cars and the photos look like 60s/70s the twisted iron grill instead of basic tube the tunnelled head lights molded lake pipes (no pipes) and then the crazy paint, flake, candy veiling and many other things. Would love to see more of this car. Most modern lowriders based on classics have stock or near stock bodies and rely soley on amazing paint I personally find these transitional cars fascinating.

Can somebody clarify something for me please?
Are these beautiful coloured effects all done over a base of silver metalflake with candy, or do they actually use coloured flake aswell?

Trying to get my head around how they are done. Have read a few "how tos" and most seem to shoot colour over silver flake.

Yes Candy over silver and silver flake. Most people spray silver first, then intercoat clear with flakes, then candy, then clear. You can use a colored flake over the candy as well to get a different effect.
