200s American wheels (daiseys) -- what sizes?

  1. I need two of these (cast style) in the 15X7 size but in a 5 on 5 1/2 Ford truck pattern. Does anybody have any or know anyone who does? Any help would be greatly appreciated....

  3. took a long time to make my sets of 4 1/2 and 4 3/4....bought my first pair of 15 x10's maybe 20 yrs ago....damn - I've got to stop hording....

    they made 14x6-14x7=14x8- 15x4(i was told only 20 sets were made-if so ive owned 7 sets through the years) 15x6-15x7-15x8-15x10 and magnesium 16x11 there may be more but these are all iv ever seen

    I have a whole set of the chrome rimmed 14" ones in 5 on 4.5" on my '52 Ford and I don't like them much, they can be for sale if anyone is interested. Not sure how wide they are, but condition is like new. They have good tires on them too, I'll cut someone a good deal or trade for chrome steelies or something like that.

    I may be mistaken but I believe the newer ones are two piece …. Using the generic alum “hoops” lots of new rims are based on.
    Old ones are cast one piece

    I ran 15x8 - 15x6 on my severely lowered 351 4v powered 72 Ranchero GT (in DP70) that’s now in Holland ……… I miss that one

    Id step up for some 15 x 4's for the comet street gasser

  9. I have a set of 15 x 8 1/2 and
    14 x 6 that I got out of an old run down houses back yard that was being sold and they were selling all the junk In the yard. These had wide oval tires on them and was told they were put out in the shed In 1971after they were swapped out for cragers. They are like brand new!!! Best 75 dollar wheels I ever bought.

    I'm sure some one knows for sure, but I seem to recall that the 200 in 200s stood for 200 mph, in other words they were a strong design regardless of the "Daisy" name. I always thought they looked better in 4 lug, like these cuties on my college ride from way back in 1979. Gary

    Pex, I like the way you think. The wheels on my truck are all 15x7. The wagon has 14x7,s on the front and 15x7,s on the rear. I've owned a bunch of these wheels. Last year at the Frogfollies swap meet I could have bought 4( (2) 15x7 and (2) 15x8) for $100.00 total. They were 4.75(chev.) bolt pattern and the original one piece with rough cast spokes. Don't be afraid to purchase wheels that have had the spokes polished-they can be blasted back to a rough finish. The caps are still available. Most I find are 15x7 and 15x8.5. photo-2.JPG photo(15).jpg

  12. Damn that truck looks good with the 200's on it. always loved these wheels, if only I could get mine to fit on my 51 chevy....

    Hey!, I did the same with a pair that I got at the HCP a few years back. They had 33" tall tires on them that were junk and I was short on space so I sawzalled the tires off until I could get them to my nephew's tire machine.
    My shop truck is a little OT for the HAMB but I think that the wheels suit it. Someone had started to polish the fronts ( 15 x 7's) so I sent them (and the 15 x 8.5 rears) to Bob Buckley at Coating Specialties (South Chicago Heights) and he blasted them and powder coated the spokes in a flat gray after polishing the rims. Now all that I need to do is narrow the rear end a little to tuck them in some.

    Using a set on my Willys sedan, skinny slots on the front. Also looking for a match for singles I have. First one is an American 200S 15 X 10, 5 on 5.5 big Ford with the stepped hoop. Second one is a no name, Western maybe? 15 X 10, 5 on 5 big GM/GM truck with the smooth hoop. Be on the lookout!

    I had a set of 14" x 7" for a 4.5" pattern many moons ago. Back then, billet was the "in" thing and nobody wanted them. Finally sold them in to a guy with a Mustang. Sorta wish I had kept them, I've got a bud with a '64 Fairlane that could use them now.

    My next HAMB friendly ride will have a set of 200S if at all possible. I have loved them and the Torq-Thrust since my car awakening in the early 70's.

    I believe the Western Wheel versions had spokes that narrowed again at the outer band. They may have been called Western Bullets. All of your vehicles look good with these wheels. I really like them on the 53-56 F-100's. Here's a better shot of my truck(the avatar pic.) Notice the center caps. They are 2 inch Peterson spot mirrors. Sam photo57chevpickup.jpg
