So, I have a 67 Chrysler 300 2d. I was driving it a while back and while pulling over to let a guy pass, I hit a bump and the car died completely. None of the interior lights work. The only thing that does work is the horn. I had this problem before. And fixed it I replaced the fusible link, cleaned all the bulk head connectors. Which actually didn't fix it but, but it started working again after I jiggled the harness for the ignition switch. Any Ideas? I was thinking a loose ground maybe.

Check the alt gauge, they had an issue with melting down. You can bypass the gauge be putting both wire together on the same post or by splicing the wires together. Be careful, the wires are battery hot, be sure to disconnect a battery terminal before splicing the wires. Gene

  3. could be a fusible link again, loose battery terminal, start at the + on the battery and check all the power junctions.

Check the main wiring harness where it goes through the firewall, that connection seems to generate heat and melt the connection.

  5. I'll second checking the ampmeter. Check to see if is hot on both sides. If it's not hot at either one then back track the circuit to the battery.

I'm no electrical genius, but I know what 12.5 +- volts on a digital meter looks like.

so get your meter and start at your battery. whatever voltage you have there you should also have everywhere else. start poking around and jiggling wires until you find where the voltage loss is. check voltage in and voltage out of every switch gauge or connection you can come up with. be sure to check grounds as well.

thanks guys I'll try the alt gauge. I do get power trough the firewall. I know the alt gauge has acted up in the past. For a while the thing would always shoot up when I stepped on the gas hard.

Also check the PC Board to make sure none of the pins have broken off, where the harness connects to it.

You have a Chrysler...you're gonna have electrical problems. Sounds like you need that ten pound wire splicer with the nice shot filled head and a anti vibration handle...

Well I bypassed the ammeter, and all the electrics work now, but it still wont start, cranks, but won't turn over.
