The world is made up of all types of people, not all of them are comfortable walking into a room full of people and introducing themselves to the mercy of the mob. If you were to watch people introducing themselves to a group that they knew nothing about nor knew if they really and certainly want to be a part of it would for the most part be a comedy. I'm sure you would get all sorts of variations to the approach, you may even get some mooners, as you do here in their own odd way. It may be that a bit of patience would go a long way towards a better experience for everyone, some times it's best to just view an intro as an absolute comedy, some times an absolute tragedy.

I got roasted for not doing an intro so I like to pass that tradition on.

Also, sometimes it really pisses them off and gets rid of the dramatic crybabies faster.

Naturally, when they get all sensitive like that, the sharks all smell blood in the water :D

I did state that they weren't mandatory because Ryan posted once on a thread and said that. It also says no porn, have you seen some of the avatars, i also see crosses and religious signatures, and don't get me started on the F$%#ing profanity, it gets rampant at times.

Hi, my name is Harv and i like vintage Fords.

Maybe the shy ones should just lurk and look until they feel comfortable about posting.

Being a fng i was intimadated to do a intro so i "lerked" around for a while till i read a few intro posts then did mine . I wish i did a better one . I am a rule follower.
The hamb is a wealth of info so just about anything they wanted me to do to join I would have.

I've never understood the guys that can't read the simple rules and request to post an intro. I've always thought of the HAMB as garage with the overhead door open and a party going on inside. The newbie is walking buy and sees what is going on and wanders in, a simple "Hi, I'm _ _ _ _ and like _ _ _ _" is just common courtesy. I must have been here a few months before I used the classified ad section.
