It is common for me to see things on the internet that blows me away but occasionally I see someting that is just beyond belief. To me this is one. The craftsmanship is equal to the best Rod and Custom builders and I know they will enjoy seeing this the most. In fact, it took more hours to build this than most of them spend on an exotic build. www.craftsmanshipmuseum.com/Chenot.htm

I can appreciate the craftmanship but I question the color choice.

Thanks, I did have trouble getting the link up and missed it when it was on another thread here. And yes, JEEEEEEZZ, some people. Mr Chenot is unbelievable. 10 years in the making!!! I want to see the '20s Gar Wood boat with the Liberty V-12 engine he has started on. He will make everything for it too including the engine. He has patience that I can only dream about.

Wow pour some fuel in it it would probably run. I had an old gent build me a World War I ship model He made scale operating steam engines it was amazing to see them run.

  18. I'm not putting this here to hijack the thread, but few know about this one too. I just thought it might fit in here.

It is hand built in 1:1 scale built by a gentleman in Calgary. That is his wife in the middle of the group showing construction photos, she drives it everywhere in the summer. I don't know if there is a web site on it or not.

I guess some people can't work in miniature.

An amazing set of skills! Didn't Peter Egan write a story about a similar craftsman for Road and Track 20 years ago?

I saw it, heard it live and left DNA on it. What a gentleman Louis Chenot is?! He will be showing it at several shows throughout the country this year. If there's a show close by you need to see it, it incredible. He's well on his way with the next project, a V-12 powered boat.

Great project thanks for the link. Over 30 years ago Ed Roy built six running SIMPLEX chassis, wonder who has them now. Everything on them worked just like the full size cars, ever the oil sightlights.

When you meet a guy who has built his OWN full size engine from scratch (even though he has a complete machine shop AND knows how to use all the tools and how to adapt them to do what he needs) It amazes you. Really it does!! Now imagine THIS guy building EVERY aspect of a car in 1/6 scale. I honestly cannot comprehend it. Bill
