It's competing for AMBR, so it will be front and center (I would belive anyways)

 

Gotta be #3 .... the subtle color combination of the body and wheels really make it stand out.

 

Russ's "T" looked like a 50's car show time warp. Loved it. They had the show on the LA news this morning with a nice segment on the "T".

 

Very hard to choose. Tried eliminating anything with a SBC engine - that didn't work. Considered cars by colors I like - that didn't work.
Tried to decide by judging which cars had the most effort invested - that didn't work.
Tried to talk my wife into letting me go - that didn't work.
Just went with which one I'd like to own the most. That worked!

My respects to all who attended, ya'll have really really impressive rides!

Quick Heads UP.... Numbers 1 and 3 were the only two vying for the AMBR award. #6 is Sandy Belond's car and it is what traditional is all about. Also was built prior to WWII. If you blink, you may miss most of the cars listed here as they are in a special building housing the LA Roadsters cars. Couldn't help but notice that the Suede Palace has more and more cars with shiny paint jobs!

 

Bass+Russ=RULERS!

 

Came down to Bass or Ganahl. The interior in the Bass car pushed it over the top. Shows how you can build something unique and still be period.

 

Russ's T all the way . Not just a cookie cutter car, the other cars have been overdone, nothing different,

Narrowed it to #4 and #5 had to go with #5 because of the hood. If #4 had a hood top that would have been my choice.

 

Funny, I was thinking the same thing, but the interior in Bass' car trumped the hood issue for me.

 

Only 1 reminded me of when I was a kid going to the autorama's in the early/mid sixtys.............thanks Jeffe some great cars to chose from

 

#1 is cool, and its a VERY nice car, but its not new, just forgotten. Its not breaking new ground any more than any of the other cars. It is pretty much a period perfect circa '63-'64 show car build, guys arent used to seeing that nowadays, but open the Showtime USA section of any Car Craft from the period, and you will see very similar cars. It narrowed down to 1, 4 and 5 pretty quickly for me. I didnt factor the display into it, just looked at the cars themselves, that would have narrowed the gap for #1.

 

No1 got my vote

 

I went for number six, but would have liked to see engines in all choices. Makes a big difference to me

 

I guess you didnt notice the front axle (super bell) thats cookie cutter.

All in all the T is a really nice Hot Rod. I really like the detail under the dash and the display looks great.

 

I keep going back and looking at that interior shot of Bass' car. DAMN!

 

Had to go with #6. A very traditional, do everything car. Drag, Bonneville, street, or show. Anything you want.

Thanks for all the support you guys. We had so much fun meeting everyone and especially Brian Bass and his crew. So cool to meet a top notch builder that is super nice. All of the cars in the top 10 are cool and deserve the recognition that they are receiving

 

#1 for AMBR ......but Pat Ganahl's (#5) for the TJJ pick. Come on voters!

I vote for #5, Ganahl's "Nitti" car does it for me...purple!!!

Didn't Pat use the Nitti roadster as the inspiration for his classic roadster? I guess if you are old enough to dig the 40's & 50's traditional HOT RODS then this might be the one but if you are a bit younger, you might pick the 60's style Take Out T. Demographics at work here.

# 6 got my vote...........

 

I really wanted to go with the T and think it's cool as hell, but being the detail freak I am, the bulky poly mounts and Super Bell logo are a turn off. I also think Radirs are a bit boring anymore. However no. 4, even with a SBC, has got gobs of character. The only knocks against it being the well camouflaged Snow White pump and faux chrome headers, neither which really jump out at you. The others aren't necessarily worse, just not as interesting to me personally.
