is it really going to be that bright in there? I need to buy film, and was thinking about grabbing some 160 and bringing the tripod, but if it is that bright I will leave the tripod at home.

I tend to be more of a "rodder", but this shot makes me wish I had been able to attend this "gathering of greats". This event looks far more exciting to me than the previous Deuce and Merc celebrations. What an incredible sight! The diversity in this shot is amazing......and this is set up day, and only a portion of what will be there!!
Great Job Axle, Rikster, Jeff and the rest who set this up!
I hope the magazines coverage on this is incredible!

Sadly, I won't be able to be at the GNRS to celebrate, and "THE INVICTA" is on display at Darryl Starbird's National Rod & Custom Hall Of Fame.
Wish I could have had it transported to the show for this weekend.

But, Manuel's work & his legend is alive...See the Tribute Page to Manuel (with Interview comments from John D'Agostino & Jerry Weesner) at this link: http://www.legends.thewwbc.net/gpage117.html

Many thanks Manuel...for all you gave to the R&C Industry with all those years of your building great customs and expert craftsmanship.

Why are some of the hoods open? Number one rule at this Kustom display
should be all hoods have to be shut. Hopefully it is only temporary.

    Thanks for the tease Luke..

    Happy Trails, Mick

  17. why shut? i agree that a car like the sam barris merc should be shown hood closed, but a car like mox millers 58 with completely detailed engine bay and trunk were intended to be shown off... just like they did when they were built.

When a Kustom is shown with its hood open it takes away from the body line and the
kool profile that the owner tried to achieve. The '58 may be the exception to the rule.
Ok then everybody else keep your hoods shut..

This hall is sensory overload for the eyes. They are like candy... sweet, sugary candy.

If you want a break from the 'nice cars', come by the Suede Palace and look at my semi-custom, surviving roadster. I might be next to it, so say hello. Axle put me right next to the stage.

I wanted to be there so bad I could damn near cry. I had to spend the $$$$ I set aside on something else that was "life-sized" important. Well in advance, thanks to ALL OF YOU from the bottom of my heart for the pics.
