On E-Bay now, check it out. Belong to anybody on here, or know anything about it? Up for auction is this unique 1932 Ford. The previous owner built this in hopes of taking it to the Salt Flats but passed away before making his dream come true. The car is still well preserved and is a treasure from the 1950's. The chassis is a 1932 Ford that has been "z'd". The rearend is a very late model 1932 that resembles the 1933 style. It features a dropped front axle with mechanical brakes. (There are no brakes on the rear) It's power derives from a 1936 Ford flathead engine that runs very well. The transmission is also 1936 Ford. The transmission and clutch are operable and the car has been moved under it's own power. The chassis is in very good condition and it rolls on 1934 Ford wheels.
p.s. I found out the hard way...but it's a no no here to post a link to ebay. You can talk about it and post pics, just no links to there (at least that's what I understand)
man id love to score that and put a buick or packard straight 8 in it and paint it a nice maroon , wheres the lottery win when you need it
Since we can't have a handy link, can someone post the title of the auction so i know what to search for and don't have to waste a bunch of time on egay just to see the damn thing.
Kinda looks like "Floyd" might have lowered the front by cutting and rewelding the axle.....Not sure about that technique.
Definately based on the PM plans which called for a 1932 Ford chassis. They were not a kit, only plans, but at least one individual made a small series of them for resale. From the November 1951 PM; http://blog.hemmings.com/index.php/2010/05/18/build-this-100-mph-sports-car-for-under-500/ Steve
Typical catchy phrase or item description these days allways has the words SaltFlat or RatRod or Duece / Deuce. Sure way to catch attention.
