I did a search. I need 2 green and 1 blue SMALL dash indicator lights BUT not the LEDS or the ones with the 22 ga wires that you can;t connect anything to. Any ideas? Thanks

I have some in my dash that I bought years ago but have no idea of where I got them. Pre Led though. I think they have that 22 gage wire though. I may have got them at Radio shack.

can I suggest putting LEDS INSIDE of the lights? then you will never have to worry about them burning out, and they will still look great

Autozone has #22 butt joints with heat shrink built in, makes it easy.

  9. GM ashtray light sockets with a small hole drilled in the top. Then use a fiber optic cable from a Cadillac Lamp Monitor system from the ashtray socket to a small hole where you want the light. This will be less than 1/8 inch total diameter, the light around half that.

    Smaller than LED.

Try your local electrical supply house. They sell pilot lights with colored lenses in all the popular colors and 12 v. Select a Switch is the brand I got, and they come with a bit heavier wire, and are not LED. They use a 3/8" hole.

Motorcycle shops: yes. Truck stops: yes. Both have many lights that might be what you are looking for, including license plate bolt lights.

If none of that works for you, Google yourself some electronics surplus sites. I have found (and used) many high-quality electronics or aviation surplus lights that sound like what you want and are of unbelievable quality (must have cost someone hundreds when new).

Nothing says "Old School" like fiber optic cable. :)

  23. Thanks, I figured they might. I just used that link to show the style. When I think of old style indicator lights the first thought is those jeweled style followed closely the the ribbed domed ones. Growing up watching the old Thunderbirds shows the "computers" were always splattered with those lights blinking and flashing!

    Got mine from Ron Francis.

  25. I know you said no LED lights but Radio Shack has a 1/4" dia. and flat face green and red LED's for $2.97 each, the face is 1/16" thick. They also have no bezel and the body is threaded and they mount with a nut. I have used these several times for turn signal and high beam. I am just saying.
