Was wondering if someone would post about your car so it's nice to get the information from the "man" himself. Your offering is perfect in it's profile and execution. I'm surprised we don't see more of them.

This is one of my favorite builds on here, can't wait for updates. ??

  14. Lowtech -

I too have been waiting for updates on "The Schaub Coupester" ... ???

Raphael's fabrication & metal-working skills are simply awesome ... I find myself revisiting this thread all the time ... just to look at the gas tank & "bomber bench".

I will admit that I too wasn't a big fan of the grille ... but in the past 10+ months, it is defiinately growing on me ... perhaps some copper and/or aluminum riveted pieces will be (tastefully) incorporated into the grille insert, radiator, fan shroud, and/or engine compartment?

  15. Thank you for the feedback guys. Raphael is currently fabricating the decklid from aluminum, as the stock one from the donor car doesn't fit very well. Besides of that, he finished the windshield frame, installed the steering column and pedal assembly, found a pair of E&J headlights (a Hershey find of fellow ACES member HP) and is currently ordering a new set of 16" wheels...

Metalwork should be finished soon as he's planning to get the car painted this winter.

As soon as I get to his workshop I'll take some pics.

  16. It's not growing on me.

The guy has toooo much talent and skill! Too bad I couldn't have gotten some of it. Great work from Raphael, and really nice for you to take the time and effort to do the thread on it. Perley

  18. The build looks good. Proportion wise it will be easier once the top is on it.

You could look at a sport coupe for proportions I guess. They were three window.

  23. Finally, the story continues...

The latest and most obvious addition is the grille that he scratch built for the track nose inspired shell.

its great to see awesome photography on a build thread. Its not awesome when someone's gas tank makes you feel like a jack ass for even thinking about building one. keep up the good work.

  26. Time for an update after the x-mas holidays. Our man Raphael wasn't lazy, instead he built an aluminium trunk lid from scratch, as the original one didn't fit too well.

One of the stand out builds here. Thank you so much for posting, and please keep the updates coming. Unbelievable skills, and a good eye too. Really interested to see how the nose looks when everything is in place.
