Would you trade....?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by StuntmanJames, Dec 30, 2010.

  1. I am also sweating over a trade. My 6 out of 10 2 door hardtop for a 9 out of 10 4 door sedan. Nice to see so many people saying keep the 4 door.

You can get away with 4 doors in the 20's and 30's, but after that they are just not cool IMHO... When you get into the era of hard top 2 doors, 4 door posts are just UGLY!

Well... keep in mind that asking about a two or four door in the same car type would be a completely different question.

I have to say I'd go for the T-Bird, perfect for a Watson style panel paint job, but hey thats just my opinion for what its worth!

The T-Bird has more potential as a custom. The Lincoln looks good for an classy, old folk's car. Which do you want to own? Nothing wrong with either car. The Bird looks like a good base for a build.

I would go for the Bird.

  10. Normally I don't like 4drs but your Lincoln is actually one that I've liked since I first say it on here. The 4dr vs. 2dr that people have really shouldn't matter. Really the most important thing is what you want to do with a car. I really never have seen any great T-birds of that year except when they are restored to original stature. The Lincoln really doesn't hold any exceptional value but it is still a luxury car of that day. I'm quite partial to Lincoln in general and I can't get over how awesome yours looks. If I had the money to buy your Lincoln I would in a heartbeat.

If you actually drive it, I'd think you would be much more happy with the 'bird. Parts for it are still available at the 'zone as well.
If it's just a trophy car that only sees asphalt one or two days a month, then stick with the lincoln... The lincoln is cooler, but the bird would be more practical as a driver.

I would look at it this way. What's the odds of finding another lincoln like yours compared to the thunderbird. YOUR ENGINE IS WORTH MORE THAN THE BIRD
    Give the bird the bird.

My vote for keeping the Lincoln, I actually thought it was my old car when I was still living up in Pontiac Ill. GREAT CAR, used to pile the kids in it and cruise down to the DQ on Sundays.

No deal ... '50s Lincolns are the essence of understated cool. Hang onto it.

  28. Don't do it...T Birds ara a dime a dozen. If the Lincoln is getting old to you, just give it a new paint job.

  29. never liked the birds, stay with the lincoln
